2010 BM newbie here. Question please? 3 Years, 8 Months ago
Hi, I have never gone to BM but would love to go to 2010. My hubby wont go, not his thing. I am 51, wine distributor by day, photographer on the side, not into drugs or having sex there but want to hook up with some fun people from the NW who I can hang with. What is the best way to join a camp similiar to your interests? First stage on planning but so far, no luck on fidning a friend to go. Oh well, their loss. Thx!

If there's one thing I've never had a problem with it's finding cool people to hang out with at Burning Man. That said, I decided to join a camp this year, so I could contribute more. I joined the Lamplighter Village and I am SOOO glad I did. What a great group of people.
I recommend checking out the volunteer section of the BM website and finding something that aligns with your interests.
If all else fails, start wathing Craigslist next May/June and you'll find plenty of people from Portland and Seattle who want to ride/camp/party together.

The official burning man website www.burningman.com has a forum with groups looking for people. I have seen the lamplighters there. You can find pretty much anything you want to know there. Reading the survival guide is mandatory.

The lamplughter village, is that where you volunteer and do the lights at night? I sent in a form to volunteer for the coffee cafe but know I am probably WAY too early. Wanted to go last night to meet people in pdx for thedecomp but had to work. I am a wine rep.

Hi there.....this is my 3rd year and my husbands 4th year.....we are not having a theme camp persay, but we are having 2 events during the week. We have not got our location yet but we are always looking for local burners to chill with. The local NW burner scene is pretty dull, no one really does anything and the website here is never updated.....we are always looking for new burners
