:: SOAK ROLES: 2015 ::

GATE:  Staffs the entrance, manages incoming traffic and perimeter of the event.  They are not greeters. Works pre-event, during event, and post event.

PARKING TEAM: On-site management of vehicles, parking lots, and traffic during the event. Works pre-event, during event, and Exodus.

MEDICAL: Medical staff at the event that assists participants with basic medical issues. Works pre-event, during event, and post event.

LNT (Leave No Trace):  Manages site clean up -- otherwise SOAK won't happen! Works during and post event. Helps to leave the event space prettier than we found it!

PLACEMENT: Responsible for event layout, map design, and acts as theme camp liaisons. Works primarily during event to help lay out space (pin flags!) and place camps.

D-CORPS (Decor): Responsible for dressing up the common and civic areas, and making some event signs. Works weeks leading up to event, pre-event, and post event.

DPW: Builds things, clears pathways, place fencing and barriers, host or attend build work-parties pre-event. May work weeks leading up to event, generally works pre-event, some during event, and post event.

RANGERS: Black Rock Rangers or "Oregon" Rangers that over see community safety and burn perimeters. Rangers have a willingness to help others, mediate, and educate. Works pre-event, during event, and post event. Oregon Ranger trainings TBD.

AMBASSADORS (Greeting and Information): Informal first-experience hosts, helps participants get oriented, hands out maps, may staff an information booth or similar in the civic area. Manages the lost and found for the event. Works pre-event, during event, and post event.

PATH LIGHTERS: New! An art group responsible for lighting paths in civic areas with artful lantern displays and ceremony. Volunteers work evenings to hang lamps just before dark, and before Effigy burns. Works pre-event, during event, and post event for clean-up.

FIRE THEATRE SAFETY TEAM: Assists with art and performer safety, manages fire prevention equipment, and effigy perimeters. Works pre-event and during event.

BURN BUILD TEAM: help build the burnable sculpture, work parties pre-event, on site final build and cleanup. Works weeks prior to event, pre-event, during event, and post event. Build site is the Burner Barn (Portland).

VOLUNTEER HOSPITALITY: Help to make the volunteers feel special by preparing food, hosting BBQs, and handing out swag and goodies. Works pre event and during event.

ART GRANT COMMITTEE: A team that decides on grant awards for contributing artists and projects.

TICKET TEAM: Manages all data, ticket sales, ticket stuffing and shipping for SOAK. Works months, weeks, and days leading up to the event.

ICE and WATER: Team responsible for the sales of ice and water during the event. Works pre-event and during event.

TSA: New! Manages all data for registered vehicles, art cars, and ADA vehicles pre-event. Helps to alleviate impact on Parking Team and Placement Team for general and in-venue parking areas with pass distribution and site plan development. Works months, weeks, and days prior to the event.
