BUILD-THE-MAN CONTEST, Designs, Submissions, & Deadline:
- Ever wanted to put your take on the Man?
- Have a desire to see your art 25ft tall and burn to in a beautiful fire?
- Think the man could use a Northwest makeover??
SOAK* is having a 'design the Man' contest and YOU will decide what it should look like this year. Submit a design for the Man by May 20th, via email portland (at) burningman (dot) com.
VOTING AND DEADLINES:
- Submission deadline for entries is May 20th
- Voting happens May 21 - 29
- Winner announced May 30
Budget is $300.00 (obtaining donated wood is HIGHLY encouraged; being resourceful and green also encouraged). You must name your drawing. No artist names will be posted with the pictures. Along with your entry send a blurb about your design, name, contact info, and the name of your man.
We'll post the plans here in the gallery, and let the community pick the winner. Voting will be from May 21st - May 30th.

Soak* - The Portland Regional Burn
June 27th-29th 2008.
SOAK is a multi-day camping event on 110 acres of meadows, a swimming hole, and wooded trails located just an hour south of Portland. This is a place to meet your fellow Portland Burners and get a taste of Burningman Northwest style. We'll have Fire Performances, Art, a central covered space, DJ's, live music, Theme Camps, Workshops and the burning of the man on Saturday. We are completely kid, dog and family friendly.
